My Letter from Lou: An Irish Trick or Treat

Tuesday, October 31, 2006

My Letter from Lou Holtz - Click to EnlargeIt was ten years ago today that Coach Lou Holtz sent me this letter. It was a great letter in that he would include someone as insignificant as myself among his friends, yet sad because he wrote it just days before his mysterious resignation as the coach of the one school he always aspired to be at ... the University of Notre Dame. Now that another coach who understands the Catholic part of Notre Dame has taken over, following the boys in blue and gold is once again easier, nevertheless I will never forget the fact that Lou took the time to write me before one of the most important decisions of his life. Cheer, Cheer for ol' Notre Dame.
