Muffet's Upset Bid Fails

Although Muffet McGraw's Ladys outdid Mike Brey's men's basketball team (who lost to Winthrop by ten after shooting 4 of 13 from the line and a paltry 4 of 22 from three-point range), by making it out of the first round, Notre Dame's upset bid of #1 North Carolina failed as the Lady Irish fell Tuesday to the Tarheels 60-51. The Irish were actually up by seven midway through the second half when a 15-0 Carolina run finally did them in. Charel Allen lead the plucky Irish (20-12) with 21.
